G.E.C
BC4650. This A.C Mains valve radio was made in 1946, and employs long, medium,
& short wave bands, which are selected by a range of push-button controls,
situated on the front of the receiver. One of these buttons is also the on/off
switch. It has an impressive bakelite cabinet, and an unusually large dial
pointer.
One
of the disadvantages of the set, is that the dial markings are prone to fading
- this symptom has affected the markings on the l.w band.
This
receiver does work, as such, but requires further alignment.
I
had to make an extension shaft to accommodate the treble control knob (bottom
l.h side of photo), as this was missing. It is fastened in to a coupler, which
is situated on the control.
The
valve line-up in this set, includes :- X61M, KTW61, DH63, KT61, & U50.
