Bush DAC70
This set was the successor to the popular DAC90 range. It was made in 1958, and is an AC/DC Mains valve set, employing lw & mw bands. The circular dial is floodlit from inside, using a 240v 15w s.b.c pygmy bulb, but this can cause problems with the dial melting with the excessive heat (n.b these standard mains pygmy lamps are 28mm diameter !). The solution is to install a 17mm dia sewing machine lamp (15w 240v), or to find a lighting dealer who stocks the smaller 10w 240v s.b.c lamp. The DAC70 works very well, once restored.
